01 How much of your own life is reflected in your work?
Alot of my photography projects come from personal experiences, I use photography as a tool to process certain things that have happened in my life such as living with Vitiligo.
My video works are usually an extension to my past photography projects and experiments.
02 Is there a certain belief / motto that you live by?
I don’t believe in mistakes, only happy accidents! Also, to work with people that you love and respect, that is when the magic happens.
03 What do you do when you experience a mental block to your creative endeavors?
I sleep! Sometimes a good night’s sleep or a nap is all I need to wake up feeling refreshed and new.
Most of the time, it’s learning a new skill that has nothing to do with photography or filmmaking and that is where new ideas start to come again.
Other times, it’s meeting new people and having random conversations. I always carry a notebook and a pen to sketch out ideas that come at the most unexpected times, always have to be prepared!
04 Which was the most interesting project you’ve ever worked on?
Generally speaking, all my music video projects from 2019 – 2020 have each been interesting in their own way because for each shoot, I try to do something new.
It was an incredible learning process and it excites me each time I can feel myself grow, it actually makes me feel more alive each time I try to push myself.
But a specific project that has a special place in my heart would be my All Purpose Flower photography series created during the first MCO in 2020.
I started to photograph flowers and objects around my apartment as a coping mechanism to everything that was happening in the outside world, it was then that I realized the power of photography and how it is more than just a creer for me.
I believe it is my calling and I don’t know how to live without it.
